About Us

Jillian Gerbrands (Gigi)

Director/Owner/President

Jillian Gerbrands has been in childcare for over twenty years. Her mother ran a Licensed Family Daycare out of her childhood home and when she was old enough, she became a certified assistant. Throughout college Jillian worked at the Italian Home for Children as a residential childcare worker. She graduated from Mount Ida College with a bachelor’s degree in human services and obtained an Early Childhood Education Certificate from Middlesex Community College. Jillian came to Bedford Children’s Center in 2016 as the infant teacher and quickly rose to taking on more management responsibility, becoming Assistant Director in 2017 and Director in 2019. Jillian’s management style with our ever-growing team has resulted in a wonderful work environment and in turn a daycare that people are scrambling to enroll in. Jillian partners with our parents to ensure smooth transitions and the best care that anyone can find for their little one. In July of 2025, Jillian became the new owner of Bedford Children’s Center. We are so excited to watch Jillian take on this new adventure and continue the great legacy of the previous owner.

Breanna McDermott

Assistant Director

Breanna has been a part of our team for over five years now. Breanna graduated from Rivier University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and has also earned her EEC Director certification. When Breanna started here at BCC, she was the infant room teacher. With Breanna's versatility, knowledge, and flexibility, she has since taught in every classroom, mastering child curriculum and teacher development, ultimately leading to her promotion as Assistant Director. We are so grateful for all that she does for our BCC community!

Kaitlin Mariano

Administrative Manager

Kaitlin has been a part of our team for over five years now. She started as a Tiny Tots teacher and has since taught in every classroom. Kaitlin specializes in record keeping, website design, event planning and implementation, interior design, and all things creative which lead to her promotion as Administrative Manager. She has earned all of her EEC certifications and is Director certified. Kaitlin keeps us organized, and is always thinking of ways to improve the school. Her love for helping children grow and develop mixed with her love for art and creating makes her such a valuable part of our team. We are so thankful for all that she does for our team and families!

Daphne Via Y Rada

Evening Manager

Daphne has been a part of our team for almost 4 years now. Daphne graduated from Middlesex Community College with an Associates Degree in Criminal Social Justice and is Lead teacher certified. She is currently working towards her EEC Director certification. When Daphne started at BCC, she was the Preschool teacher. She has since taught in every classroom, but her heart remains in Sprouts. Daphne is a strong, caring, and enthusiastic teacher. She is a natural leader with great interpersonal skills and parent connections, ultimately leading to her role as Evening Manager. We are so appreciative of everything Daphne does for our community!

"Sending our kids to bcc is one of the best decisions we made for our kids. The care, love and learning our kids got at BCC has been overwhelming and we couldn't have asked for anything more. As both Reya and Amay transitioned from infancy to toddlerhood and early childhood - BCC was always there for us. You all are a big part of their developmental milestones and we couldn't have done it without you. Both our children thoroughly enjoyed their time at BCC. Any extended vacation we have been on in the last few years, at about day three or four the kids would always say when will I go back to BCC - that's a testament for how much fun they had. Amay and Reya have different personalities, different strengths/opportunities and their path to getting ready for Kindergarten was different too. It wasn't a cookie cutter approach. I sincerely thank all of the BCC team members - present and ex, for their unwavering support to our kids. Bedford Children's Center has been the perfect fit for our family! We've been at BCC for the last 3+ years and have nothing but positive things to say about our experience there. Jill and her team are the very best! They provide a loving and nurturing environment that we feel so lucky our kiddos are a part of. They have a school-wide curriculum with age appropriate activities for each classroom and lots of fun themed days/weeks... the last several years they have had an annual Art Show and Trunk or Treat for families, which has been so nice to feel involved in our kiddos' school community. Communication has always been great and we've never felt badly reaching out about the tiniest things ("did we leave the baby's milk cup?".... "did she finally stop crying after I left?"...). Most importantly, the teachers are all amazing and truly have gotten to know our kids and feel like family to us. They are kind, approachable, and consistently work wonderfully with both of our children and their individual needs and we feel so grateful for that! We feel so lucky that BCC is where our kids began their childcare/education and are so happy it is where they will be until they transition off to Kindergarten.

My family is so grateful to have found BCC. We have been at BCC for three years now, and it was our first experience within the Bedford community. The teachers are dedicated, nurturing, and truly see and love our children for who they are. The management is reliable, communicative, and flexible in meeting our children where they are developmentally and emotionally. The staff works closely with families and any needed interventions to support children holistically and always as a team.

Our kids feel safe, supported, and excited to go each day. The teachers balance structure with creativity. Activities include singing fun/ educational songs, playing games, spending time outdoors on developmentally appropriate playgrounds (there are several to accommodate different age groups), going on walks to the local farm, and enjoying water play in the summer. We also love the sense of community the daycare fosters through events like the art show and Trunk or Treat. It's a place that truly lets kids be kids.
