  2. What happens when it snows?

If the public school is closed BCC will have a 10am start time with a regular end time. In the event of extreme snow the BCC will be closed and you will receive a call prior to 7am. In the event that BCC needs to close during the day due to snow parents are called to notify of the closure. In all cases an email is also sent out for notification. All decisions are made for the safety of the children and the teachers commuting to the school.

  4. Does BCC provide food?

BCC provides all children staying longer than four hours with a healthy snack in the morning, and all full day children with an additional afternoon snack. Parents and guardians are responsible for sending a peanut free lunch with a child staying longer than four hours. If any child has dietary restrictions BCC will work with the parents to accommodate that child.

  5. What food is served for snack to my child?

Snack menus are developed on a weekly basis and posted at BCC. These menus have been designed by our nutrition consultant based on the new U.S. dietary guidelines. We do not serve food with trans fats or high fructose corn syrup. Our snacks include many whole grains, fruits, vegetables and limited sugar.

  6. My child has an allergy, how is that addressed?

BCC is a nut free center and does not provide any foods that have been processed with, or in a plant that also processes either peanuts or tree nuts. If your child has an allergy the staff will work closely with you to ensure that his or her room is in line with your child's needs. In an extreme case BCC will call in the nutritionist to work with the center.

  7. How many kids will be in class with my child?

BCC follows the licensure requirement of the Massachusetts Deapartment of Early Education and Care. Our teacher / student ratios are dictated by the EEC. BCC's room are a nice size providing the ability for your child to socialize with their peers while at the same time being an intimate place allowing for close supervision and an "at home" feeling.
